Bio-Rad supports 40+ legal entities across the EMEA region, and the Controllership organization ensures financial performance is captured accurately, timely, and efficiently.
As a Senior Accounting & Reporting Accountant, you will own monthly accounting and internal reporting under US GAAP, support annual local GAAP requirements, and help deliver tax/statutory and other local reporting for a portfolio of Central EMEA entities—primarily Switzerland and Germany.
You will partner closely with regional finance teams and Corporate HQ stakeholders, and you will serve as a key contact point for external auditors across the entities in scope.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- You will lead timely and accurate monthly close activities, ensuring alignment with group reporting deadlines, accounting policies, and internal guidelines.
- You will complete US GAAP quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements and support delivery of group timelines.
- You will prepare robust, audit-ready balance sheet reconciliations with clear support and ownership of open items.
- You will perform high-quality trial balance reviews and produce meaningful variance analysis by building strong financial, operational, and commercial understanding.
- You will support US GAAP tax provisioning activities, including forecasting inputs, journal entries, reporting outputs, and return-to-provision preparation.
- You will produce GAAP-to-statutory bridge files, help prepare local statutory accounts, and maintain high-quality supporting documentation to internal deadlines.
- You will coordinate and manage statutory audits, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and service providers and responding to queries promptly.
- You will draft and/or review qualitative sections of financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- You will help ensure statutory compliance and accurate ledger maintenance in SAP, keeping records up to date and audit-ready
- You will maintain compliance calendars and deliver monthly/quarterly/annual filings, tax payments, and statistical submissions with strong documentation and recordkeeping.
- You will monitor and resolve ServiceNow tickets, providing timely and supportive service to EMEA stakeholders.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional finance teams (e.g., Revenue Accounting, Payroll, Fixed Assets, PTP, OTC, FP&A, Treasury, Intercompany, Internal Audit, and Tax) to standardize documentation, streamline processes, and drive efficiencies.
- You will proactively propose improvements and participate in ad hoc projects, including support for corporate income tax audits when required.
What You’ll Bring:
- You are an enthusiastic team player who can work flexibly in a fast-changing environment and build strong relationships across Finance and business stakeholders.
- You have an accounting/control background with a good understanding of US GAAP and at least one statutory GAAP used in EMEA environments.
- You bring a proven track record of identifying issues, solving problems, and improving processes, ideally with a Lean/6-Sigma mindset.
- You are comfortable working with finance systems and tools such as SAP, and ideally Power BI, BlackLine, OneSource, or similar platforms.
- You communicate clearly and confidently in English (written and verbal), and an additional European language is a plus.
- You have strong time management, analytical skills, and a risk-based approach, and you can collaborate effectively across different levels and functions.
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in economics or business administration (or equivalent) and bring 5–7 years of accounting experience in an international multinational and/or Big 4 (or a combination).
- You are comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders across countries and time zones, and you can confidently manage external auditor interactions
